Recommended Printing Method
While you can absolutely print your wall art at home, we strongly recommend using a professional print service for the most beautiful and accurate results. Professional printers use commercial-grade equipment, premium paper, and calibrated color settings that consistently produce superior results compared to standard home printers — particularly for larger sizes and designs with rich, saturated colors.
How To Print At A Professional Print Service
Follow these steps to send your files to any professional print service in the USA:
Step 1 — Choose Your Size Open your downloaded ZIP folder and select the file that matches the print size you want. All 8 sizes are included so simply choose the one that fits your frame or wall space.
Step 2 — Visit the Print Service Website or Store Navigate to the photo or print section of your chosen print service. Most major services accept online uploads for home delivery or in-store pickup.
Step 3 — Upload Your File Upload the PDF or JPEG file for your chosen size. Most professional print services accept both formats. If given the choice between the two, upload the PDF file for the sharpest possible output.
Step 4 — Select Your Paper Type For wall art we recommend selecting one of the following paper options when available:
| Paper Type | Result | Recommended For |
|---|---|---|
| Premium Matte Photo Paper | Soft, elegant finish with no glare | Most wall art styles — our top recommendation |
| Glossy Photo Paper | Bright, vivid colors with a reflective finish | Bold and colorful designs |
| Luster Photo Paper | Semi-gloss finish, reduced fingerprints | Portraits and detailed botanical art |
| Fine Art Matte Paper | Museum-quality feel, premium texture | Luxury and high-end display |
Avoid standard copy paper or multipurpose paper as these produce noticeably duller colors and less defined edges that do not do justice to the quality of the artwork.
Step 5 — Set Print Size to Actual Size When prompted for your print size select the exact dimensions of the file you uploaded. Do not select Fit to Page, Scale to Fit, or any automatic resizing option. Always print at Actual Size or 100% to ensure your artwork prints at the correct dimensions.
Step 6 — Place Your Order Complete your order and select either in-store pickup or home delivery depending on your preference and timeline. Most professional print services in the USA offer same-day or next-day in-store pickup for standard sizes.

How To Print At Home
If you prefer to print your wall art at home follow these guidelines for the best possible results.
Printer Settings
Before printing open your printer settings or print dialog and apply the following settings:
| Setting | Recommended Selection |
|---|---|
| Paper Size | Match exactly to your chosen file size |
| Print Quality | Best, High Quality, or Photo — the highest available |
| Color Mode | Color — never grayscale or black and white |
| Scaling | Actual Size or 100% — never Fit to Page |
| Paper Type | Match your selected paper type in the printer settings |
Paper Selection
The paper you print on makes a significant difference to the final result. For home printing we recommend:
Bright White Inkjet Photo Paper for the most vibrant color reproduction and sharpest detail. This is available at any office supply store, Target, Walmart, or Amazon and is the single most impactful upgrade you can make to your home printing results.
Premium Matte Presentation Paper for a softer, more elegant finish that suits neutral toned and farmhouse style designs particularly well.
Standard copy paper is not recommended for wall art printing. While it is usable for a test print it will produce noticeably duller colors, less defined edges, and a result that does not reflect the true quality of the design.
Home Printer Tips
Run a test print on standard paper first to confirm the sizing and layout before printing on premium paper.
Allow your print to dry for a minimum of 30 minutes after printing before handling, framing, or placing it against any surface. This prevents smudging and fingerprints on photo paper finishes.
If your colors appear duller than expected after printing, try increasing the saturation slightly in your printer color settings or switch to a glossy paper type for more vibrant output.
Clean your printer heads before printing if you have not used your printer recently. Clogged printer heads are the most common cause of streaky or dull home print results.
Understanding Color Differences Between Screen and Print
It is completely normal for your printed wall art to appear slightly different in color compared to how the design looks on your screen. This is not a defect in your files and it happens with all professionally designed digital artwork.
The reason for this difference is straightforward. Screens display colors using RGB color mode which produces light-based color that can appear very bright and vivid. Printers output color using CMYK mode which uses physical ink on paper and naturally produces a slightly different color range.
Warm tones such as terracotta, deep greens, rich golds, and warm neutrals are particularly subject to this variation. These colors tend to appear slightly more saturated on screen and slightly more muted when printed, which is a completely normal characteristic of the CMYK printing process.
| Color Type | Screen Appearance | Printed Appearance |
|---|---|---|
| Warm neutrals | Slightly warmer and brighter | Soft and naturally muted |
| Deep greens | Rich and saturated | Slightly softer, still rich |
| Gold and terracotta | Vivid and warm | Warm and slightly more earthy |
| Soft whites and creams | Clean and bright | Warm and natural |
| Bold blues and blacks | High contrast | Accurate and consistent |
For the most accurate color reproduction we recommend using a professional print service rather than a home printer as professional equipment is calibrated specifically to minimize the RGB to CMYK color shift.
Framing Your Print
Once your artwork is printed and fully dry it is ready to frame. Here are a few professional tips for getting a beautiful finished result.
Use a Mat Board Adding a white or cream mat board inside your frame creates an instant gallery-quality presentation. Mat boards are available pre-cut at Target, Walmart, and Amazon, or you can request custom mat cutting at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. A mat board also protects your print from touching the glass directly which can cause condensation damage over time.
Clean Your Frame Glass Before Assembling Wipe both sides of your frame glass with a microfiber cloth before placing your print inside. Fingerprints and dust trapped under the glass will be visible once the frame is assembled and are difficult to remove without disassembling.
Use UV-Protective Glass or Acrylic If you are placing your framed print in a room with direct sunlight, UV-protective glass or acrylic significantly reduces fading over time and preserves the colors of your artwork for much longer. Hobby Lobby and Michaels offer UV-protective frame options at a range of price points.
Allow Breathing Room Do not press your print tightly against the glass inside the frame. A small amount of space between the print surface and the glass prevents moisture buildup that can cause warping or sticking over time. A mat board naturally creates this space.
Troubleshooting Common Printing Issues
| Issue | Most Likely Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Print is blurry or pixelated | File printed at too large a size or printer set to low quality | Use the correct size file and set printer quality to highest setting |
| Colors look dull or faded | Standard copy paper used or printer quality too low | Switch to photo paper and set printer quality to Best or High |
| Print has streaks or lines | Printer heads need cleaning | Run the printer head cleaning function in your printer settings |
| Print is the wrong size | Printer set to Fit to Page or Scale to Fit | Always set print scale to Actual Size or 100% |
| Colors look very different from screen | Normal RGB to CMYK shift | Use a professional print service for the most accurate colors |

Adobe Acrobat Reader is free to download at adobe.com/acrobat/pdf-reader and is the recommended application for opening and printing PDF wall art files for the best possible output quality.
Resizing Your Files
Your download includes 8 sizes designed to cover the most common frame dimensions in the USA. If you need a size that is not included, you can resize any of the provided files slightly using the following free tools:
Canva — canva.com — Upload your JPEG file, create a new design at your desired dimensions, and export at the highest quality setting.
Adobe Acrobat Reader — For PDF files you can select a custom print size in the print dialog. This works well for minor size adjustments.
Important: We recommend resizing only within a moderate range of the original file dimensions. Significantly upsizing a file beyond its intended dimensions will reduce sharpness and print quality. For the best results always use the closest included size to your target dimensions.
